Bus Meal Delivery, Frequently Asked Questions

Metro Schools is providing grab and go meals at schools and at bus route stops throughout the district while schools are operating remotely. For information and to find your meal delivery bus stop, please visit the Transportation page.

Will the bus deliver meals to my regular bus stop?
No. Transportation has been given a limited time window to deliver meals and avoid impacting the virtual online education schedule. Driving to all our regular stops would greatly exceed the time we have available.
As the school year continues, we may make adjustments in the delivery schedule and locations.

Will the bus deliver meals to my home? If not, can I request home delivery?
No, with exceptions. The transportation staff does not have the ability to provide home delivery. The current route stops are within a reasonable closest distance to both our general education and exceptional education students.
If families of students in Exceptional Education need exceptions, please contact the Exceptional Education staff and the Transportation Department.

The Find My Bus Stop app is showing "Route Not Available” or the "Time Not Available” - How can I find out where and when the bus will arrive?
Route not available appears for a newly enrolled student because the address is at a location where another student also is assigned to a bus stop. You will need to contact the Family Information Center at 615-259-INFO to find out the nearest stop and time the bus will deliver meals.

Bắn Cá Hải Tặc iOS "Time not available displays" when the address for the student has not been assigned a bus stop. Transportation Routing will assign your student to the nearest stop. Check back on the Find My Bus Stop web site later (within 24 hours) or the next school day. You will see your bus stop information in “Find My Bus Stop.

The bus ran out of meals before I could receive one for my child. Why didn’t the bus have enough?
Bắn Cá Hải Tặc iOS Nutrition Services provides a certain number of meals each day based on student meal data. We do not know how many parents and students may show up at the stop. The driver will call into Transportation Dispatch and report they ran out of meals. We will direct another bus servicing your child’s school and grade to come to your location and continue distributing meals. This could take several minutes or more depending on where the other bus is coming from. Please be patient as we will work with Nutrition Services to increase the number of meals for the next day. When this situation occurs, we make every effort to provide the number of meals needed at your stop.

The bus driver did not provide me with a meal and/or said I needed to come back at the scheduled time for my or my child’s grade level. Why did they do that?
You should have received your or your child’s meal and we apologize. We will follow up with this driver to ensure they understand and follow the process we have defined for meal distribution. The driver should ask you for information about your child for record keeping and meal accounting requirements: Student 190 Number (Optional - if unknown; Name; Grade; School of Attendance; Date of Birth.

Bắn Cá Hải Tặc iOSFamilies of charter school students can contact their schools for meals distribution information.

Will we receive a meal at the bus stop if my child attends an out of zone or optional school?
Yes. Transportation has defined all new bus stops for the meal distribution routes and taken into account that students may reside in neighborhoods where they do not attend the zoned school. The driver should ask you for information about your child for record keeping and meal accounting requirements: Student 190 Number (Optional - if unknown; Name; Grade; School of Attendance; Date of Birth. The information will be provided to Nutrition Services for the appropriate school and students meal account.
